Anchoring Instructions
-
Download SMHI and Eniro on the lake apps. Check wind and weather! It is important to choose a shelter place that is easy and safe for anchoring. Keep in mind that weather and wind direction can change during the night. It is best to anchor in a bay protected from several wind directions.
-
Drive to the chosen place by boat and cabin. Drive carefully towards land and confirm that there is enough depth and a good tree to attach a line ashore.
-
One person goes ashore. Note a taller tree to aim at when you later return to land. The view will be obscured by the cottage.
-
Turn cabin and boat from shore.
-
Drive about 60 meters without from land.
-
Trailer at anchor.
-
Back against the person on land or the tree you have chosen to aim at. Release the anchor line at the same time. Back close enough to throw the rope ashore to the person on land. Attach the anchor line to the cottage and throw the rope ashore. If there is a crosswind, it is difficult to back / steer towards the person / tree and you may need to choose another place.
The noise from the engine and the visibility restriction from the cabin make it difficult to hear each other. An alternative to getting the rope ashore is to use the paddle board.
-
The person on land takes the rope around a tree and throws it back to the houseboat.
-
Attach the rope to the back of the cottage.
-
Now you can move the cottage between the anchorage point in the lake and the tree on land by dropping on one line and pulling on the other. Tighten the ropes so you come a bit from land and do not risk rubbing against the bottom. If you are a bit, 7-10 m from land, you avoid mosquitoes and other biting insects.
Feel that the anchor is stuck. It should not be possible to pull up. The most common error is that the anchor is not far enough out. If half the line is left in the box, it is too short and you need to get it further out. There are places where the anchor does not want to attach even if the line is long and then you need to move to another place.
We always come and help with the first anchorage. If you later have problems, contact us, we would rather help than have problems, for everyone's safety.
